Schengen Visa
- These countries are:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
- Schengen visa is not suitable if you want to stay in the country of the Schengen more than three months, or if you want to apply for a job or start a business or trade.
Where can you apply for the Schengen visa?
- You must apply to the embassy or consulate in your country of residence.
- You must apply to the embassy of the major country you intend to visit (the country with the longest duration of visit).
- Do not consider, in any way, a transit country as a major travel destination.
- If you can identify the main destination, you must apply to that country’s embassy
Documents required for a visa application
General document:
- Passport with at least two blank pages, valid for at least three months after leaving the schengen territory.
- All previous passports (photocopy of bio pages and of all schengen visa)
- One passport size colour photograph (35 X 45) mm full faces, light background, no older than six months.
- A detailed letter of presentation addressed to the Embassy by the applicant’s company specifying: a. Purpose of the trip b. Professional status of Applicant c. details regarding activities (for employer and employee).
- For an employee:
a. Appointment letter b. Salary statements/pay
slips of the last six months (original
+ Photocopy).
And
For
Business Owners/Employer/Self Employed:
(a). Registration documents of the
applicant’s company. (b).
certificate of incorporation. (c).
Memorandum of articles and association (copies of the first two and last page
with the names of the shareholders). (d).
valid membership certificate with local chamber of commerce. (e). Tax number. (f). VAT registration. (g).
Trade License (original and photocopy).
- Updated Personal & Company Bank Statements of the last six months back and issued no more than four days before submission of application. Statements to be stamped and signed by the bank.
- Proof of accommodation or Hotel Reservation/s at destination/s.
- Additional documents for accompanying family members: (a). Marriage certificate (for Spouse). (b). Birth Certificate (for Children). (c). Leave Grant letter from school along with ID card photocopy should be provided in case of students. (d). No objection certificate should be provided from non-travelling parents in case a child is travelling without one parent.
- Overseas Medical Insurance with minimum coverage of Euro 30, 000-, only with the inclusion of a repatriation flight if required.(photocopy)
- Booking of return air ticket (original and photocopy)
- Travel programme, draft programme of a tour, when appropriate.

- A visa application must be submitted in person at the embassy.
- Please note that the embassy has the right to ask for more documents.
